Position Specifics:
Department: Accounting
Reports to: CFO/ CEO
Supervises: Accounting
Purpose:
Manages accounting activities in accordance with Dealership policies, procedures, and requirements including the preparation of financial reports and summaries to support the business. Attracts, retains, and effectively engages department personnel.
Responsibilities:
o Provides financial counseling and assistance to the senior management team including analysis and recommendations to enhance operations and results
o Manages all accounting activities to ensure that financial processes and information are accurate, timely, and contain adequate internal controls
o Coordinates and manages preparation of the budget and strategic plan including performing financial analysis and miscellaneous requests for information
o Reviews reports to analyze projections of sales and profit against actual figures, reviews budgeted expenses against actual totals, and suggests methods of improving the budget planning process as appropriate
o Monitors dealership financial metrics
o Manages the preparation of all financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, reports to stakeholders, tax returns, and reports for governmental regulatory agencies and
o Reconciles applicable John Deere accounts in the general ledger (John Deere statements, rentals, reserve accounts, etc.)
o Analyzes company operations to identify opportunities for reduction of expenses
o Manages cash flow and analyzes credit line requirements
o Manages recruiting, staffing and employee development activities for the Accounting Department
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
o 3+ years experience in financial management or accounting
o Understands financial concepts such as budgets, Return on Investment (ROI), Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), and Net Operating Return on Assets (NORA)
o Knowledge of financial principles required for budgeting and strategic planning
o Understands financial statements, cash flow, and key financial ratios
o Understands the integrated systems of internal control and the relationship to disclosure and financial reporting
o Proficient with accounting systems and in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
o Bachelors Degree in an Accounting/Finance/Business discipline or equivalent experience required. Masters Degree in Accounting/Finance or Business Administration preferred
o CPA designation preferred

Pay: $85,000.00 – $115,000.00 per year
