Purpose:
Performs basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned lawn and garden equipment/outdoor power equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Performs basic lawn and garden/outdoor power equipment diagnostics and determines what repairs are needed, if required.
- Performs basic lawn and garden/outdoor power equipment repairs as requested by the Service Manager/Shop Foreman.
- Participates in all job-related training and development.
- Responsible for completing proper documentation pertaining to the job. Example: quotes, parts pick lists, warranty write ups, proper complaint, cause, repair information on each work order.
- Ability to use computer in diagnostics, documentation, and processing of individual jobs.
- Prepares all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
- Maintains current product knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
- Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
Requirements:
- Preferably one year of experience performing service repairs.
- Ability to perform advanced repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures.
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural equipment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s license.
Starting pay is $18.00 per hour or higher, depending on experience.
